I don't think I will wet shave again, 2008-11-23The main reason I bought this shaver, apart from the fact it got such great reviews, is that ever since being a teenager (I am now 31) I have suffered from spots. Blasted things just would not go away. I came upon the theory that it must be a lot to do with, if not solely because of using razors, and cuts getting infected with bacteria causing spots.
With high hopes I bought this shaver and I am very impressed. OK lets put things into perspective, I have never used an electric shaver before and I have used it only about 3-4 times. After just one try my skin felt different, like it was behaving differently with a new cutting system in place. It isn't as close as with a razor, but I imagine that will get better with technique and skin adjustment. It is close enough to look and feel good though. I don't stay smooth for as long now, but honestly I couldn't care less as I have had virtually no new spots since, IT'S AMAZING!!
Before with a razor I always shaved in the shower as my skin would otherwise get cut up easily and be really hard work, now I can dry shave without a problem. I also couldn't shave regularly and would have to get a good amount of stubble before my skin would allow me to shave again without cuts. Unlike with a razor I definitely need a mirror (so far) as otherwise I miss bits. It feels very disconnected using a shaver now compared to a razor, but my skin is thanking me for it big time.
As a product it is ugly as hell, but it feels nice to hold and does the job well. I like the little side burn cutter which is useful, but I have read on the Amazon.com site that some people don't agree. Build quality is a bit toy like in places, but with care it should last for a good number of years. I am told that the charge is very good. Well I haven't had to charge it again yet and I expect to get a good number more shaves yet. To be quite honest I am not overly convinced of the tilting head gimmick, but as long as the shaver does what it supposed to do I am happy. It is very easy to clean, takes only a minute or less.
