Terrible disappointment, 2007-02-28We all loved Lightning Thief and had a hard time waiting for this book to get to us....and then...what a bummer. It's not very funny, it's full of stale PC/moral relativism stuff that you find in way too many YA novels these days, and the battles against the monsters aren't as exciting or original. It just seemed like a rush job to us. We will check the next one out of the library sometime over the summer to see if Mr. Riordan gets back on track.
We'd recommend either the Bartimeus Trilogy or Gregor the Overlander over this book.
