Brilliant, 2008-05-27For rather obvious reasons, there are echoes of the Delgados here, and you can hear back in Universal Audio some songs heading in this direction. But it's not a continuation, far from it. The opening to New Land might lead you to question for a moment how the album is going to progress, but it all unfolds beautifully; the delicate fragility of Limbs and The Optimist, the sublime melancholic dreaminess of Fortune, the lilting rhythm of If Silence Means That Much To You... All of which without mentioning Emma's voice. As a great Delgados fan, I was hoping for something good - this is amazing.
