 Good value for yur money, 2009-06-10

I bought this camera as my eyesight has deterioated somewhat since I bought my faithful old Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 a few years ago - I can no longer see the menu on its little screen without reaching for my glasses!! The T700 is a worthy replacement for my old camera and the 3.5" screen is fantastic. Close-up shots can be taken as close as 2" from the subject and then you can zoom in on the image for fantastic detail. The on-screen menu is very simple to follow. I havn't yet mastered the smile-shot feature as my Grandson wont keep still and never smiles when I want him to - but I will persevere!! Battery life is quite short (depending of course on the camera settings) but I would say that it's adequate. Spare batteries are expensive - beware!! The camera features a charge indicator so keep your eye on it. If you're leaving home for more than a couple of days, don't forget to take your charger (supplied) with you. The camera comes with a connectivity lead too. The big plus is that the T700 fits easily into my shirt pocket so it's always handy for that "special" moment!! My mate has a "posh" SLR camera, but having seen and tried my T700 he is seriously thinking of buying one himself! If you're looking for a good value compact camera, buy this one (or maybe another in the Sony 'T' series range!!
