An Unexpected Joy, 2009-08-29Watching through the box sets of The OC, it quickly became evident that the creators had paid a great deal of attention to the music that was accompanying the episodes, so the mixes that they have produced to go with it soon caught my attention. They have done just as good a job with this, the first of 6 albums that were put out.
It contains the theme tune, California by Phantom Planet along with eleven other very good tracks by various indie bands with highlights (for me at least) of Just A Ride and Dice.
The album works very well on its own and as an introduction to the various artists if you haven't heard of them before. Highly recommended.
